Trying WordPress extended page list plugin

For one of my customers I feel the need to try the WordPress extended page list plugin. The blurb says:

Features

• Full control of the HTML tags used to display the page list
• Include the page content or excerpt when listing the pages.
• Display subpages or full page hierarchy.
• Better sidebar widget for site navigation.
• Supports post thumbnails for content / excerpts.

What I want is

The page has a set of subpages. Rather than writing my own headings, excerpts and links in the page, I want it to write these in the subpages and simply refer to them from the higher level page. I’ll do it first, then show you what I mean.
