
- Login to the website
- Create a new draft post
- upload the image you want to use for your link
- add the alternate text. e.g. Visit Patrick Dealtry’s Lone Working blog
- paste the blog URL into the link URL
- choose an alignment of none
- insert it into the post
- Like this…
- Switch to HTML view, select and copy the text into the clipboard
- You don’t need to save the post
- Now choose Appearance > Widgets
- Drag a Text widget to the sidebar or widget area of your choice
- Paste the text into the text area of the widget. Leave the title blank. Save

Note: the source of the image will not be the same as in this example. And you may want to adjust the size of the image to match your current blog links.
