Letter taxonomy plugins

For any site that displays content sorted by alphabet rather than date it would be nice to have a simple A to Z selection list.

oik-a2z provides the Letter taxonomy for posts and is extensible to allow multiple letter taxonomies with special logic to determine the letter to which a post is associated.

_ underscore prefix in WordPress and PHP.

In WordPress the underscore prefix on a field name indicates that it should not be included in the Custom Fields metabox.

In PHP programming the underscore is used in function naming for a number of reasons.

  • Functions prefixed with underscore may be considered as private functions.
  • As a separator when constructing unique names for hooks, functions, fields
