In Part 1 of this rather ridiculous investigation… ridiculous since it should be so b. obvious but I can’t find the simple help… I messed about with doing the Linked In #hashtag just about everywhere in the post except the body.

This is an attempt to discover what was meant by the sentence that said

Once added, you can filter your posts with a special Linked-In tag

something like that… I’ve changed the Linked In tag so I don’t use it in the body of this post

then I check to see if Linked In detects it in my feed.

I daren’t link back to my original post in case it finds the special tag in the link.

Well here goes. No categories, no tags, nothing. So I expect to see nothing on my inked In profile.

And lo and behold I didn’t, until I ticked the checkbox to see all recent posts, when it showed

Test 2 – does it look at the image file name?

Now, let’s try again. The file name of the image may be enough.

Test 2 response. Apparently not.

Test 3 – what if I add a post tag?

First without the #. Nope nothing

Test 4 – add the Post Tag as a #hashtag

Nope nothing. But then the question is where did the #go. It’s not shown in the tag cloud?

Test 5 – is it case sensitive then?

Well probably not.
