In the latest updates to the oik base plugin some functionality has been moved from oik to oik-bob-bing-wide.
Shareaholic and sexybookmarks – same plugin or not?
I’ve been trying to rediscover a plugin that included a “You may also like” section below each post that
I’d originally by accident when updating a site and its plugins, but didn’t leave enabled because there were some integration problems.
Network Privacy or More Privacy Options
A number of my clients have multiple WordPress websites. They write their own content. Sometimes they want a play area (AKA sandbox) where they can try things out without messing up the site content.
For quite a few of them, implementing a WordPress Multisite solution would appear to be the way to go.
They would have their main sites visible to the general public and the play area(s) would be protected from view.
But it’s not just a simple matter of creating a site which is not checked as Public.
Although it would not be listed by a shortcode such as [bw_blogs] it would still be accessible if you type in the site’s home URL.
So we need a plugin to protect the site. There appears to be a choice.
TinyMCE extensions

Problem with Add-to-any and Artisteer 4.1 responsive themes
The latest version of the add-to-any plugin (version 1.1.6) conflicts with Artisteer responsive themes. When the window size is narrower than 768 pixels, it can cause Artisteer‘s responsive jQuery code to add a <div> which is then styled as if it were a responsive video. Revisiting Membership plugins
In 2011 Bobbing Wide evaluated plugins that could be used to manage sites requiring different levels of membership. We have revisited this list, adding the requirement to finely manage capabilities.
oik-testimonials

Have you ever wanted to display your NextGEN gallery using the jQuery Nivo slider? Well now you can, using the oik-nivo-slider plugin.
Choosing a WordPress mass category update plugin
One of my customers asked me recently what he could use to change the category of a whole host of posts from one category to another. I looked at the standard WordPress functionality – Bulk Edit – but that wasn”t suitable, since you can’t deselect the current category, only assign new. So then I looked at WordPress.org‘s plugin repository. Oh dear
Social Login plugins
I’m working on a replacement for the Caravan-info website. This site allows users to register and login using their Facebook or Twitter accounts. Of these two only 21 have connected with their Twitter account and 115 through Facebook.
I intend to provide a similar functionality using WordPress plugins. Choices are
How to change your WordPress Copyright statement for 2013
In January 2012, I published How to change your WordPress Copyright statement for 2012. Later in the year (February) I released version 1.10 of the oik plugin in which I introduced the © Copyright Bobbing Wide 2010-2021. All rights reserved. shortcode. This shortcode automatically sets the “to year” to the current year. So the instructions for 2013 are now a lot simpler
